New Trustee

Welcome to Alero Agindotan – our newest Trustee! Alero has been a part of Green Gathering for many years and comes to us with decades of charity management experience. Alero has been working as the bars and recycling manager at Green Gathering so comes to us with a thorough understanding of our event. We look forward to her bringing her intelligence and resolve to our work! Here is a picture of her lovely hound.

Thank you Tony!

Tony Phillips stepped in after the sad loss of Susan Alexander and has now stepped down after giving us 3 years. Tony ran Charity Home onsite at the Gathering for many years and will be missed. Thank you Tony for your service! The charity is getting ready to formally welcome a new trustee in May.

Thank you Buzz!

Our Youth Trustee Buzz is standing down as he is starting university in October. Buzz has worked hard to improve and modernise our systems. Thank you Buzz!

Wow – we won!

We won the International Greener Festival Award – that’s the top accolade in the world for sustainable events!

We also won the International Greener Power Award for demonstrating that it’s possible to run a whole festival – not only the stages but the backstage production, traders and all – using off-grid renewable sources.

We were shocked and soooooo pleased, truly honoured, to be up on stage with A Greener Festival at the Green Events and Innovations conference to receive these awards.

We live and breathe sustainable practices and to be recognised at such a level as successful grassroots pioneers is hugely, hugely heart warming; it will help energise us to keep innovating, improving and inspiring other events to ‘green up’.

Thanks to A Greener Festival for all your encouragement, and to everyone who contributes to The Green Gathering – this award is yours too.

Our pic shows Jak, Shane and Steve from OTP accepting the award and looking rightly chuffed with themselves! Huge thanks from the charity trustees to OTP and all of our crew, volunteers and festival goers x

Keeping going through the pandemic – latest update

It’s been a great start to the new year for us with thanks going to charity trustee and OTP director Steve Muggeridge for landing an Arts Council England grant to ensure advance planning for the Green Gathering 2021 steams ahead – even if we don’t we know for sure as we write this in January if the national vaccination programme will see us back to normal in time. All of us are working as normal on the assumption that all will be well and we are working on a range of ideas and initiatives designed to keep the optimism flowing and expectation rising so if you have any smart ideas, nows the time to get in touch.
